im not sure whether pro's play LN.

anyway hun have a very poor start in LN, so i think its the only map where hun must be avoided.


civs for LN


china(the best), mongol, other good civs(maya, spanish, persia, jap, celt, korea(better line of sight early on, but a good civ only for flank))

best civs for ln - china(6 vills) + maya (4 vills) huge bonus

third civ
spain - fast building, can get TC up fast also lumber + trade bonus + conqs rox in castle age for raiding, more so than knts.

mong - great imp game and faster hunting means can fued very fast also castle very fast. Depends on map.

Jap - 50% cheap means 50 less wood to chop

celt - fast woodchoppers

pers - start with + 50 food

korea - los is good + trush is also a good option (flank civ like he says)

Thats my order of preference for 3rd civ. I'd go with spain or mong.
Both got great imp game, and a decent bonus.

1)china
2)mayans / japs / pers
3)celt / mongols / spain

i think in this way
chinese anyway best civ in LN - best start , good for both knights & bows
mayans can loom a bit later in LN (i think japs/pers bonus equal mayans tc building time)
pers & japs save more time than other civs
spain build fast & save much time
mongols save time in hunting & equals "fast starters" in fc
celts chop faster & easy more food


koreans must make onagers in tg (boom games usually in LN)
huns equal other civs around mid castle (except china , i dont consider mayan good in castle age)

but according to m persians is as outstanding civ in LN , only civ which can build barracks + make room for pop

i donno y i feel more confy wit mongols in LN coz i manage to find a lot of deers n build TC thr itself... Razz
is tht ok to do??

mong/brit on ln is map dependent. If you get enough sheep, you can fc with brit also with 23 pop. "IF" there is hunt, mong rox. By bad luck if you have no hunt, or little, then mong early advantage is lost.

Play safe -- go chin maya spain.

And suhas -- maya adv >> jap / pers.

btw... if mong(or any other civ), 3 boars is better or 8 deers... both cases with enuf sheep?? similarly 4 boars or 10 deers, wich is better??

i wud like to c a chinese FC and mongol FC on LN if any1 has a rec plz ?

deers is best source of food

building tc near tc is much better than building near forage bush / only sheep
