Arena -->>

anyone here plays arena? I'm thinking of switching to an arena whore coz of lack of time....

arena = quick games < 40 mins usually

and arena is more of a strategy map, unlike ara where raiding is the key..

I bet the ara whores here will have a tough time with arena
just like I'm having..

really hard to get a 15xx arena game, have to play vs 16+ 11

arena relies too much on strategy

all 16++ will be very eager to play with u if u play mongolia

not really....in fact i wasnt getting any ara today so hosted arena and got two 1580's.....

total ownage though..had to play vs a 1450 to regain my self respect 111

no man I hate pure boom...LN is best for that anyway

arena is not at all boom..its a misconception arena is a rush and push map

I mean you wont get even games, you either own a guy who knows nothing or get raped by a 16+

but the boring thing abt arena is that it tends to be restricted to 2 civs only. either maya or mongol.

with arabia people tend to be more free in chosing civs.

hun, aztec, maya, mongol, byz, celt, jap, teu, pers, vik and a few more

arena is a complete push map

some civs gg vs huns in arabia

i thought mongol or maya rape other civs in arena

byza spanish azt turks franks brits are also as strong in arena....any civ with ranged uu or good monks is good in arena 11

byza is good coz of rox imp time and good hps for castles

i've heard people say pers is the worst in arena dunno why

pers would be a headache coz i think its easy to convert those war elephants in arena. lol. that would be a real headache.



btw how to play with aztecs in arena. whats the strat???

not bcoz of only conversion
persian needs big boom everytime - forward castle , quite faster imp of other civs beat persians
if persians go fast imp , costly units cannot be created

& one more thing - arena map has very less space to play (almost 50% forest)
cut-off boom = gg

+ i think aztecs are strongest in 1 v 1 arena vs other civs (turks & byz are quite exceptions)

aztecs are strong because of pain-in-the-ass monks and eagles..eagles are well suited for arena since u can create eagles from 4-5 rax even after 25-26 min imp...and azt monk+ram rush is very tough to counter in castle age..

but pers have good boom, and hc+hussar shouldn't be very tough after 28 min imp so i dont get it..huns are one of the worst surely

but in arena, strat and defense matters much more than civ..

persians , huns both worst in arena i think

i forgot about monk rush for aztecs

With pers, you can only boom. No choice of doing anything in castle age.

Sooo, if opponent goes castle heavy, like fwd castle + monks + rams, then gg for pers. A fwd castle = gg for pers Vs any civ. Huns are a decent civ in arena. Korea are ok, if you can et to imp with decent eco. Aztec/maya/turks imo are the most preferred 1v1 civs, although ppl just go random with arena.

I love arena lol, one of my fav maps. Anytime you want. Dont get 1450 nic
